The Head of Architecture will be developing, designing and supporting applications at a financial institution in addition to designing and deploying data architectures with scalability and performance in mind. Client Details Our client is a predominantly credit focused investment management firm that has been around for over 2 decades. They are a nice, family friendly firm rooted in philanthropy and giving back to the community. Their culture and investment process are rooted in three defining principles: rigorous fundamental analysis, strong risk management, and ongoing portfolio optimization. Our client is based in Chicago and have assets under management of approximately $5 billion. Our client recently was acquired by a new entity, and they will be the investment manager for all assets going into this entity. This will lead them to growth of approx. $40 billion in assets under management, and the largest minority owned financial firm in the world. Description Work with stakeholders to identify and analyze business requirements, develop solutions, and create technical designs.Provide technical guidance and leadership to the junior members of the data analytics team, ensuring that the solutions are built according to best practices.Own and improve the data platform architectureEvaluate new technologies and integrate them into our infrastructureLead the design of improved data flows, data architecture, and data solutionsHelp build out a secure and highly available data system to scaleHelp create and build front office data analytics tools and automation processesProfile To be considered for this role, you must have experience working for a financial firm and must be based in Greater Chicago as you will be expected to come into their office in downtown Chicago 4 days a week. 7+ years of experience developing, designing and supporting applications at a financial institutionIn-depth knowledge of data architecture best practices, such as data modeling, database design, and data integrationProven track record of designing and deploying data architectures with scalability and performance in mindAbility to create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture solutionsExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to design and troubleshoot complex technical problemsProficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, C# and/or TableauExperience with cloud-based data architectures, such as AWS and AzureKnowledge of data security principles and regulationsStrong communication and interpersonal skills for working with stakeholders across the organizationAutomating of processes and analytics and the technologies that enable automationJob Offer Highly competetive base salary with a 50-75% bonusFlexibility to work from home when neededPaternity/Maternity LeaveComprehensive healthcareShort-term/Long-term disabilityMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
